Merry Christmas from Augusta's former "first family!"Read More
What an incredible year this has been for Fireside and Heritage Academy! Fireside's Violin programs have grown to sixty students: 25 Beginners, 20 Intermediates, and 15 Advanced. Our violin students perform on a regular basis: most recently for United Way's kick-off and most recently for MAU and the city government. They perform weekly for guests who come for lunch and a historical tour of Heritage Academy. Check out the video here.
We would like each of you reading of you this newsletter to prayerfully consider a way to support the mission of Heritage Academy and our violin program. Question: Do you pay GA-State Income taxes? If yes, and you would like to help with scholarships for Heritage Academy Students, the process is simple but needs to be done by the end of the year. This is a dollar for dollar tax CREDIT on your GA State taxes and also a Federal Charitable tax deductions. Most of you have not heard of this, but Heritage has been doing this for six years and it works! Heritage will provide all the help necessary for you to get this done. The state of Georgia set aside $58,000,000 this year for private schools to benefit their scholarships for students.
If you desire to learn more about this tax credit program, please contact Julie Tollison by calling (706) 821-0034 or emailing her at email@example.com.
We are also raising resources for a string ensemble with cellos, violas, and violins for students who want to press ahead in their musical education. If you would like to partner with us before the end of the year, you can contribute to Fireside Ministries violin program in one of the following ways: at firesideaug.org, call Phin Hitchcock (706) 495-6688, or mail your contribution to P.O. Box 2525 Augusta, GA 30903. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thanks for considering this important investment and have a very special and blessed Christmas!
God’s mercies are new and fresh every morning. What an exciting beginning this fall at Heritage Academy with our violin program! Classes are 7:20 am to 8:20 am Monday through Friday before school. We have excellent instructors: Anthony McCollum is a 5th year music major at Augusta University (Anthony instructs the beginner class); Pawel Kosak performs with the Symphony of Augusta (Pawel instructs the intermediate and advanced classes). Savannah Elsey and I are assisting the 5 early morning classes.
The Beginner class on Monday mornings has 27 very energetic students, 2nd – 5th graders. Who knows how this will influence their lives for the future. The Intermediate Wednesday and Friday class has 24 and are being challenged this year to read music, as well as continue to develop their Suzuki listening skills. The Advanced Tuesday and Thursday class are being challenged to concentrate on reading music as well. This class is already preparing for two mini concerts in October: United Way Kickoff with MAU and a fundraiser for Symphony of Augusta. Pray for us as we build relationships with our precious children and help them come to know the Lord of music, Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
We have moved from the Farmers’ Market to our own place at 2nd and Ellis Street. Here we will offer fresh vegetables and have our own reclaimed wood items on display.
Thanks again for your interest and investment in Fireside Ministries and Industries.
In Christ, Phin Hitchcock
